A segment from a 1989 episode of "A Current Affair" focusing on the differences between two Batmen: Adam West & Michael Keaton. Although the film's release would silence most of the doubters, there was quite a bit of controversy surrounding the movie's change in tone from the television series (which was over 20 years old at that point).
Oh... and ya gotta love Wally Wingert's "Adam West" song used here. Plus- Check out the guy at the 2:07 mark's shorts!

San Jose Mercury News Review
By Glen Lovell -June 23, 1989
Check out this postive (and lengthy) review from the film from the June 23, 1989 edition of the San Jose Mercury. As with most reviews of the time, the writer compares the film to the 60's show quite a bit, something that didn't happen much with the later films. It just goes to show what a stigma the 60's show left on the Batman character... and just how much the 1989 film erased that moving forward.
